Workshop Abstract
Detail Overview: 9:30 session will address a Limited English Proficiency class. The class works on issues related to the job search. The length of the class will allow time for KACS staff assistance in interpreting workshop content.
Introduction to IDES and its website.
Point out various features
- Focus will be on information for Individuals:
Point out features/programs
We will walk through a job seeker registration.
For those who had an Illinois Skills Match profile, explain IJL access.
Explain setting up new account for new users.
Explain need for setting up a PLUS account.
· Will briefly introduce CIS. If time permits, will set up Portfolios.
· Information on Senior Employment
Conclusion
The Korean American Community Services Organization wants to understand how it can assist its clients using IDES Job Search tools. The workshop will assist individuals and demonstrate use of the IJL system to staff. At conclusion, job seekers will be registered in IJL and be familiar with CIS.
The language barrier will be met by conducting the workshop on site at the center, where staff will assist.
