Exhibition: Tranquilization
The exhibition, Tranquilization to celebrate Chicago Artist Month and Spotlight on Chicago starts on Monday, October 25th. Reception is on Tuesday, October 26th, 4pm to 6pm. There will be demonstration workshops of three dimensional decoupage and paper craft which shows how seniors prepare for the Christmas tree at the Museum of Science and Industry each year. There will be also registration for free three dimensional decoupage class which starts in November on the basis of First comes, first served.
The Tranquilization will show how eastern type of paper craft and western type of paper craft harmoniously meet, giving deep breath of meditation to aged crafters with limited English proficiency. KACS strives to be one of community studios where emerging artists and crafters with limited English proficiency gain confidence to communicate with community people toward later career development.
KACS art and cultural programming, Root East, Root West, supported by Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Illinois Art Council, offers many different programs targeting seniors, youth and low-income adults to nurture individual’s artistic growth by mutual exchange of own culture.
The exhibition is only for a week, Oct. 25 to Oct. 29. If you would like to purchase one of works on display, please send an email to [email protected]. The primary purchase will be set during the reception.
