Mr. and Mrs. Sei Won Kim Scholarship Endowment Fund 2010
The Korean American Community Services (KACS) is planning to award Mr. and Mrs. Kim scholarship. The Scholarship Fund is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the 2010 scholarship award of $1,000. The due date for scholarship application is May 14, 2010.
The Fund was established in honor of two long-time residents in Chicago, Mr. Sei Won Kim and Mrs. Ae Nyou Kim, by the family. The first recipient of the scholarship was awarded in June 2005 at the annual meeting of KACS. We are primarily looking for a young and promising Korean American who is preparing for a career in human services, public health or related fields. The candidates who can be categorized as 1.5 or preferably second generation Korean-American with the spirit of serving the world are most encouraged to apply.
Poised to extend dynamic services to the challenging future of culturally and ethnically diverse community, KACS is keenly interested in identifying and nurturing potential leaders in social services field. We are delighted to have a scholarship program that is aimed at preparing the Korean American younger generation for the future challenges.
The applicants should submit to the Scholarship Fund Committee, Attn: Dr. Soo-Lyon Yon, c/o KACS or e-mail to [email protected]: (1) a short statement of career objectives, (2) two recommendation letters, and (3) a transcript, if applicable, and (4) a curriculum vita by May 14, 2010.
