The Department of Senior Services and Public Benefits is committed to improving the quality of life and maintaining the dignity of older adults and immigrant families through support, education, empowerment and advocacy.
Individual and Group Counseling Services
Through individual and group counseling services, seniors are able to learn a variety of coping mechanisms when confronted with physical, emotional, and financial changes.
Topics: How to utilize Housing and Senior Services, retirement plans, information regarding Medicare and how to choose medical care insurance, prescription drug insurance counseling, dementia/depression counseling, or counseling for lifestyle problems.
Continuing Education
Our Continuing Education Program helps to plan and manage individual growth so that older adults may lead vigorous and active lives through a variety of programs that are suitable and engaging for seniors.
Classes: English Language Classes, Computer Classes, Kouksundo, Paper Construction Class, etc.
Silver Human Resources Bank
KACS provides the training and networking for seniors that are interested in job placement or civic participation. This service enables seniors 60+ years old to apply their workplace skills and years of life experiences in valuable volunteer or Title V opportunities.

Public Health Services
We provide a variety of public health services to ensure that seniors can lead active and healthy lives, which include dementia prevention educational workshops, prevention and education of falling down and falling injuries, disease prevention and health awareness education, nutrition counseling, prescription drug dosage and management education, depression prevention education, etc.
Happy Café
KACS provides a space for seniors to meet and freely talk about personal or social issues and the specific ways they are affected. The meetings rely upon honestly sharing opinions so that sincere and genuine relationships may develop.
Public Benefits Programs
We provide comprehensive case management, translation/ interpretation, and information/ referral services for those who have Language and cultural barriers in accessing to public benefits and services of local, State, and Federal government.
