Dear scholarship committee members and community leaders;

On behalf of Korean American Community Services (KACS), we are pleased to announce that this year we are planning to award Mr. Sei Won Kim and Mrs. Ae Nyou Choi scholarship. The Scholarship Fund is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the 2014 scholarship award of $1,000.

The Fund was established in honor of two long-time residents in Chicago, Mr. Sei Won Kim and Mrs. Ae Nyou Choi, by the family. The first recipient of the scholarship was awarded in June 2005 at the annual meeting of KACS.

We are primarily looking for a young and promising Korean American who is preparing for a career in social work, human services, public health or related fields. The candidates who can be categorized as 1.5 or second generation Korean Americans with the spirit of serving committed to the community are most encouraged to apply.

KACS is identifying and nurturing potential leaders in social services field. We are delighted to have a scholarship program that is aimed at preparing the Korean American younger generation for the future challenges.

The following items must be submitted in order for the application to qualify to be reviewed by the scholarship committee;

1. Application form

2. Proof of current student enrollment or official acceptance from a school

3. Two recommendation letters

4. The most recent unofficial or official transcript

5. Curriculum vitae (CV)
