2016년 5월 4일 (수요일) 한인교육문화마당집에서는 이 자리에서 주 상원의원 데니얼 비스가 Chair로 있는 Human Service Committee는 HB5736에 대해 6명이 찬성, 1명이 반대, 1명이 불참하여 다수의 지지와 찬성으로 " 이 Committee에서는 Community United와 Healthy Communities Cook County (HC3) Coalition 시민리더이자 All Kids로 혜택을 받는 3명의 아이를 가진 "남편이 갑자기 사고로 죽고, 혼자서 3명의 아이들을 한인사회복지회는 자매 기관들과 함께 의원들에게 All Kids에 대해 적극적인 지지를 당부하고, 주 상원의회 http://petitions.moveon.org/

HEALTHY ILLINOIS APPLAUDS SENATE PRESIDENT JOHN CULLERTON, SENATE CHIEF SPONSOR IRIS MARTINEZ, SENATE MINORITY LEADER CHRISTINE RADOGNO AND ASSISTANT REPUBLICAN LEADER SYVERSERSON FOR SUPPORTING “Covering All Kids” HB 5736 Passed by the Senate Human Services Committee 6 to 1 with Bi-Partisan Support. HB 5736 moves to the full Illinois Senate for approval. SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS - By a vote of 6 to 1 in Illinois Senate committee, the Illinois Senate continues the bipartisan commitment for commonsense legislation “Covering All Kids” HB 5736. Two weeks ago, Illinois House approved HB5736 with robust bipartisanship 77 to 38. Healthy Illinois thanks “Covering All-Kids Champions Governor Bruce Rauner, House Speaker Michael Madigan, Senate President John Cullerton, chief sponsors Lisa Hernandez and Iris Martinez, minority leaders Christine Radogno, Jim Durkin, Dave Syversonand Patti Bellock for renewing their commitment to quality health coverage for all children regardless of their immigration status. HB 5736 will next be voted by the full Illinois Senate and signed by Governor Rauner.
“Today's passage of HB5736 in the Senate Human Services Committee, extending the Covering All Kids Health Insurance Act, continues Illinois's longstanding and important bi-partisan commitment to protecting the health of children in this state regardless of immigration status. COVERING ALL KIDS WORKS · Covering All Kids has resulted in Illinois having the second highest rate of health coverage for Latino children in the nation – 95.5% · Covering All Kids has resulted in Illinois having one of the highest rates of health coverage for ALL children in the nation - 96.7% · Covering All Kids generates an enhanced Federal match: the program draws down over $40 million federal match that reduces the already modest state cost · In 2006, Covering All Kids was passed with a unanimous bi-partisan vote of 107 to nothing in the IL House, and has since enjoyed the support of both Democratic and Republican Governors · Substantial federal matching funds will be lost or at risk, and children from working poor families, including immigrant children, will lose health coverage on July 1, if Illinois does not continue “Covering All Kids” · SUPPORT HB5736: amending The Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Act to extend the sunset date from July 1, 2016 to October 1, 2019 The mission of the Healthy Illinois Campaign is to make quality, affordable health care coverage accessible to all people in Illinois.http://www. ###

Savvy Caregiver Program. Community Wellness Center 에서는 지난 3월 9일부터 4월 13일까지 총 6회에 걸쳐 Savvy Caregiver Program 을 한인사회복지회 본관 시카고 오피스에서 진행했습니다. 총 12명의 가족 간병인들이 참석하시어, 알츠하이머에 대한 기본적인 정보와 간병인 자신을 위한 자기관리등 간병에 관련된 전박적인 내용을 배웠습니다. 이번 교육에 참석하신 참가자들의 반응이 매우 고무적이었고, 지역사회의 관심에 힘입어 오는 6월 15일부터 북서부 오피스에서 2기 Savvy Caregiver group이 진행될 예정입니다. At KACS's Chicago office, the Community Wellness Department hosted the Savvy Caregiver Program six times from March 9th to April 13th. A total of 12 family caregivers attended the program to learn information about caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease, teaching self-care, and additional information about caregiving for those with cognitive impairment. Because of the positive feedback towards the program from the community and attendants, KACS's suburban office will host another Savvy Caregiver froup beginning on June 15th. 2. KARE Project. Northwestern University의 Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease Center의 Dr. Darby Morhardt 와 공동으로 한국노인분들의 Alzheimer's 병에 대한 인식증대 및 뇌건강 관리를 향상시키기 위해 KARE( Korean American Alzheimer's Research and Education) 프로그램을 진행중입니다. 지난 3월 31일 Des Plaines 에 위치한 Frances Manor 에서의 workshop을 시작으로, 4월 20일 Hanmee Presbyterian Church 그리고 4월 27일 Vineyard Presbyterian Church 에서 총 3회 workshop을 진행했습니다.
The KARE(Korean American Alzheimer's Research and Education) project was created so that Korean elders could increase their understanding of Alzheimer's disease and brain health. KACS and Dr. Darby Morhardt at Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease Center at Northwestern University together created the project. Three program workshops have been implemented since March 31st, 2016. The first workshop was at Frances Manor in Des Plains, the second at Hanmee Presbyterian Church in Itasca on April 20th, the the third on April 27th at Vineyard Presbyterian Church in Elmhurst.
