Director of Development
Job Description
Essential functions Assist the executive director to plan and
implement development and communication activities, including the
presentation of fundraising and other special events.
Duties &
responsibilities Research changing community needs and work with
program staff to help develop strategic plan for the agency.
Coordinate with program staff to develop new
programs based on community needs, and identify potential funding sources to
meet these needs.
Develop relationships with corporations,
foundations, government agencies and private donors to solicit financial
support for the agency.
Write and edit grant proposals.
Coordinate the fundraising and other special
events. In so doing, coordinate board fundraising committee activities, individual
donor solicitations, and maintain funder and donor databases.
Manage the agency’s internal and external
communications, including brochures, annual reports, newsletters,
e-newsletters, and website.
Coordinate the agency’s volunteer program.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the
executive director.
Qualifications &
requirements Bachelor’s degree in social sciences,
communications or related disciplines
Excellent writing and communication skills
Minimum three years of community work or
volunteer experience
Willingness to understand Korean community,
culture, language, and history
Reporting relationship Executive Director
